Anderson Residence
The existing family room was small and crammed and did not allow good access to the beautiful garden and deck, while the adjacent kitchen needed a more open connection to the family room and updates to the cabinets, appliances, countertops and lighting.

With the children having grown up and left, the need for a larger family room for entertaining had become more important than the extra bedroom and small bath adjacent to the existing family room. We incorporated part of the obsolete bedroom into the footprint of the new family room and removed the shower from the bath to create an exterior covered area for the barbecue and to create a regular powder room. The rest of the bedroom was transformed into new entry closets, a walk-in pantry and a linen room, which provided much needed storage space.

The new family room was in essence a new addition build within the existing footprint. The new construction of the space allowed for a higher ceiling and new roof lines to create distinction of the space as viewed from the exterior.
